Prague Small Castle

Lesser Quarter, Malá Strana
Czech republic, Prague
The Prague Small Castle is located on the left bank of the Vltava, connected to the Old Town by Charles Bridge. The first settlements arose here in the region of Lesser Town Square at the crossroads of trade routes from east to west. In 1297, the city was founded by official decree of the Czech king, city walls and defensive fortifications began to be erected. In the 17th-18th centuries, Mala Strana experienced rapid development and a surge in construction. There are a large number of Baroque palaces and attractions, including: Wallenstein Palace, Ledebourg Palace, Kampa Island, Church Saint Nicholas and many others.

Mala Strana is one of my favorite districts of Prague (I can write these words about both Grač any and Ž iž kov). The Little Country gives you the opportunity to hide from the crowds of tourists and perhaps see the mysterious and real Prague. Narrow streets, beautiful houses with interesting signs, the majestic Church of St. Nicholas, the Church of the Virgin Mary (where you can see the Jesuit), Vrtbovsky and Walndstein palaces and gardens, War Gardens - this is not the whole list of attractions of the Little Country.

It used to be a separate city and mostly Germans lived here. Now - the area of Prague, which has a large number of beautiful palaces. Most of them are embassies or governing bodies - the Senate, Parliament. Little Country is really small, sandwiched between hills, and the streets here, as in the Old Town, are very narrow. But not all.

... Because it's on a hill, with a huge number of pubs. However, there are more elegant cafes and more people. Everything here is a delight: the market, courtyards, dead ends, metro stations. You will need decent shoes with thick soles, because the pavement here is not distinguished by elegance, unlike the castles, palaces and legendary gardens of the Lesser Town.
