Prague funicular

Lanová dráha na Petřín, Funicular Railway, Petřín Funicular
Czech republic, Prague
The funicular was laid on Petřín Hill in 1891 and timed to coincide with the Anniversary Industrial Exhibition in Prague. The line consisted of only 2 stations. In 1932 it was extended and electrified. For 20 years since 1965, the funicular did not work due to the destruction of the tracks by a landslide, but in 1985, after repairs, it was again open to the public. Now the funicular is part of the public transport system in Prague. Its 2 carriages travel along the route Újezd - Nebozízek - Petřín with a length of 510 m.
