The beginning of the construction of the town hall dates back to 1348, and it is associated with the design of the Novo Mesto district, the center of which, according to the then ruler of the Czech Republic Charles IV, it was to become. Now Novomes Town Hall is a real complex, made in the Renaissance style, which it was wrapped in the sixteenth century. Initially, the pride of Charles Square was presented as a creation of Gothic architecture. When viewed from above, the building is a kind of trapezoid, formed by four wings, two of which, south and east, from the beginning belong to the town hall.

Oh, and I like this town hall, how wonderfully officials were thrown out of its windows .....If only we had such a town hall .....Oh, dreams, dreams .... But seriously, the first mention of it dates back to 1377. The town hall has witnessed many historical events. In it, representatives of the Protestants forced the Emperor Rudolf II to sign a document guaranteeing freedom of religion. It was both a court and a prison, and even a transport inspectorate. There is an observation deck on the tower of the town hall (221 steps), unfortunately we didn’t get it (Monday is a day off).
