Fortress Prague Castle

Pražský hrad, Prague Castle
Czech republic, Prague
Prague Castle is a fortress in Prague (an analogue of the East Slavic Kremlin), the residence of the President of the Czech Republic (formerly the Czech kings, some emperors of the Holy Roman Empire, the presidents of Czechoslovakia, the imperial protectors of Bohemia and Moravia). The largest presidential residence in the world, possibly also the largest castle in the world.

Located in Hradcany on a high hill overlooking Prague. It is exceptionally rich in architectural, artistic and historical treasures.

There are many residential buildings in the Castle, although it contains many very famous buildings. Including in it are located: the Cathedral of St. Vitus, the Golden Lane, the Church of All Saints, the Basilica of St. George. Next to the Castle is the Royal Garden, which houses the Summer Palace of Queen Anne.

Prague Castle is one of the main attractions of Prague. There will be little day to see all his treasures in detail. Here are the Cathedral of St. Vitus, many museums, small and cozy gardens, Golden Street, a toy museum. Every time I visit Prague, I visit this place, but I haven't seen everything, I'm not a big fan of museums, so I was only in the cathedral, on the cathedral tower (I recommend, the views are very cool) and toy museums. I have all the museums of Prague Castle, which are in the biggest ticket, it is always a backup option in case of heavy rain.

This ancient symbol of Prague is the most significant monument and one of the most important cultural institutions in the Czech Republic. According to the Guinness Book of Records, Prague Castle, 570 meters long and 130 meters wide, is the largest continuous castle complex in the world, covering an area of almost 7.000 square meters. m. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it consists of a large composition of palaces and church buildings of various architectural styles, from Roman-style buildings of the tenth century to Gothic churches and palaces of the fourteenth century.

The climb up the hill leading to Prague Castle is not short and easy, but the view from the top is phenomenal! You can see a beautiful panorama of Prague. Entrance to the garden is free, but for a tour of the rest of the castle you will have to pay about 40 euros. By the way, after 18 the entrance to the Golden Street is also free, but no one will tell you this unless you ask yourself.

A visit to Prague Castle is included in the sightseeing tour. Be sure to take a walk. I would like to suggest one more interesting place, it is called Pleč nik's pyramid. It is located in the fourth courtyard. If you stand in the middle of the pyramid and shout, you will hear a stereo effect. Leave a visit to the Old Royal Palace for 2-3 arrivals in Prague.
