Fair Palace

Veletrzni Palac, The Slav Epic, Slovanská epopej
Czech republic, Prague
The Fair Palace was built in 1925-1928, located in the Holesovice district, Prague-7. The palace is the first building in Prague built in the functionalist style. Previously, fairs were held here, offices of international companies were located, but in 1978 the building was transferred to the National Gallery. Now the complex is used to house an exhibition of contemporary art, famous for the paintings of Picasso, Renoir and Van Gogh, as well as the "Slavic Epic" by Alphonse Mucha.

We stopped in the Old Town and took a trolley bus to the gallery. We crossed the bridge and turned right, continuing for about two more miles. The museum-gallery looks like an ordinary building, but not a single person should pass by the Slavic Epic of Alphonse Mucha. 20 huge canvases are so amazing and strong that you mentally rest, moving from one picture to another. The eyes of the artist in some works are the eyes of many people in other paintings. Be sure to check it out!
