The synagogue received its first name "Jubilee" in honor of the 50th anniversary of the accession to the throne of Emperor Franz Joseph I. But the more common name is "Jerusalem" - according to the name of the street on which it stands. The building was built in 1906 by Viennese architect Wilhelm Schasny, author of many synagogue designs in Austria-Hungary. The style of the building can be described as eclectic - here you can highlight the features of Art Nouveau and Moorish style. The facade is decorated with a massive arch with a rosette window with the Star of David and the Hebrew inscription "This is the gate of the Lord through which the righteous enter.→
