Hill Petrin

Petrin Hill, Petrin
Czech republic, Prague
Petřín Hill is located on the left bank of the Vltava and is almost completely covered with parks and gardens. The height of the hill is 327 meters and is connected to Mala Strana by a funicular line that began operating in 1891. Since ancient times, stone has been mined here, from which many buildings in Prague were built. On Petřín Hill is the Observation Tower, part of the surviving Hungry Wall, the Stefanik Observatory and the stadium.

We got up by cable car, and down slowly we walked along the paths of the hill. At the top you can visit the tower, the church of St. Lawrence, mirror labyrinth, rosary, Stefanik Observatory. Some sites already have pages on the site, others will be available soon. But I liked the gardens and parks on the slopes of the hill. There are many paths and trails, there are places for recreation and observation decks, ponds and beautiful monuments. One of the best is a monument to the poet Karel Massi by the famous sculptor Josef Vaclav Myslbek.

Petershin Hill is located on the Lesser Side. You can get to the hill on foot, if in physical shape, or in good shape and know the detours. The first is from the Strahov Monastery, the second is through the Kinsky Garden. And for the majority of tourists the way to the hill through the funicular, the lower station of which is close to the tram stop. On the funicular are real flowers for public transport. There are many interesting things in Petershin: a rosary, an observation tower, a mirror labyrinth, the church of St.

After walking through the gardens of Petrin Hill, I decided to climb the hill itself, which took me about half an hour. Climbing to the top, I saw a mini Eiffel Tower with a strong steel frame. Another 300 steps up, and I realized that all my efforts were worth it. I had a panoramic view of the whole of Prague with many spiers, chimneys on the roofs and impressive baroque facades of buildings. There is also a pub next to the tower where you can drink delicious and refreshing beer.

We came here from the Old City, enjoying the unfolding scenery of the tops of the Petrin Hill, reminiscent of the Eiffel Tower. All the time we had to ride the bus in a crowd of people, smoothly moving around the city, but when we finally passed 300 steps from the ground, we had plenty of time and space to contemplate the beautiful view below us. The parks and gardens in the sunlight were simply wonderful, and the owls in the trees added to this beauty even more. History, beautiful landscapes and nature, what else can you lack for happiness?.
