Castle Tower
Zamecka věz
Czech republic, Karlovy Vary
As recent archaeological research has confirmed, the place where the Castle Tower is now located was once an ancient hunting castle, built around 1358 by order of Charles IV.
After a fire in 1604, when the castle burned down, a tower was built in its place, which to this day is one of the oldest buildings in Karlovy Vary. Once upon a time, troubadours announced the arrival of important guests from its walls.
