Hotel Colonnade is an architectural monument, which arose as a result of the merger of two independent hotels "Otava" and "Patria".
The history of both hotels is closely connected with the history of Karlovy Vary. The first mention of "Otava" (now the right wing of the Colonnade) dates back to 1802. Then it was called "The Golden Lion", and later - "At Wilhelm of Prussia". It was visited by Prince Ludovic Bonaparte and N.V. Gogol. In the 1950s the hotel got its current name. Hotel "Patria" (now the left wing of the Colonnade) was built in 1820. It was then called "Paradise". The current name appeared after the Second World War.
