Krumlov Castle

Czech republic, Cesky Krumlov
The castle is located in the south of the Czech Republic, in the small picturesque town of Cesky Krumlov. It is the second largest castle in the country. During its centuries-old history - for the first time the name of the castle was mentioned in the middle of the XII century - it was rebuilt many times. The last large-scale reconstruction dates back to the 18th century, when a representative of the princely family of Schwarzenberg (owning the castle at that time) transformed the architectural complex in the Viennese Baroque style. In the middle of the 20th century, the castle passed into state ownership, and in the early 1990s it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. An old stone bridge leads to the castle, which rises on a steep rocky promontory above the Vltava River. One of the significant objects of the historical complex is the Baroque Castle Theater, which is considered one of the first such theaters in Europe.

In Cesky Krumlov got on his first trip abroad. These were Krakow and the Czech Republic. Krumlov impressed me more than Prague. Since then, I have been there twice more, and the charm does not pass. Excursion to the castle was not planned, we got there unexpectedly for ourselves and it was impressive. Although you probably need to do a follow-up visit, now there is something to compare. Obligatory for me rituals in Krumlov - photos with fuchsias in the castle yard in summer and photos from the loopholes to the city.

A trip to this small town and a leisurely walk through it gave me real pleasure. I was lucky enough to visit here twice at different times of the year and day. And he left a lasting impression. The first acquaintance happened by chance passing through. It was a walk through the winter city at night, when there was no one around, it seemed that I found myself in a time machine in the Middle Ages ...I was fascinated. But everything was closed, so I came here at the first opportunity for two days and during the warmer period of the year.
