The Baths of Aphrodite is located on the territory of the peninsula-reserve Akamas, 6 km from the port of Latchi and 43 km from Paphos. Aphrodite is the goddess of beauty, love and fertility, one of the twelve great Olympian gods. A constant element of the goddess's attire was the famous belt, in which love, desire, seduction were enclosed - this is how Aphrodite inspired love feelings in gods and people and fell in love herself. The bath is a small reservoir under a limestone rock, formed by a spring and surrounded by thickets of ferns. Here, in the shade of a fig tree, Aphrodite took refreshing baths and here she met Adonis, who became her lover. It is believed that swimming in the always cold water of the pond gives eternal youth and helps to preserve beauty.
Warning signs near the baths ask tourists to refrain from swimming so as not to disturb the natural balance of this romantic place. Near the bath there is a platform with a beautiful view of the sea and the surrounding area, above the bath for hiking, the Aphrodite trail and the Adonis trail are equipped. Approximately 300 meters from the bath there is a small pebble beach.
