Larnaca fortress

Larnaca Fort
Cyprus, Larnaca
Larnaca fortress was built in 1625 by the Turks. Then the ships were forbidden to enter the harbor until a shot was heard from the fortress guns. Later, under the British, the fortress was used as a prison. Now there is a small museum here.

What this castle originally looked like is not known for certain. What we see now is the construction of the late 19th century. Entrance to the castle is paid 2.50 E. The Historical Museum is a very loud name for several stands with utensils and weapons. Inside the castle does not impress. And if you are lucky, it is better to get to the castle for some kind of performance (the courtyard of the castle is used for concerts and the acoustics are not bad there) and get much more positive emotions..
