Municipal Museum of Varadero
Museo Municipal Varadero, Varadero Museum
Cuba, Varadero
The Varadero Museum is housed in a beach house built in the 1920s.
Designed by Leopold Arbroy, the design of the house, with circular balconies and wooden verandas, is in keeping with typical buildings of the 1920s. The lodge was renovated in the early 1980s.
Among the exhibits of the museum, tourists can see a collection of stuffed animals, the remains of a small two-headed shark, pieces of furniture from different periods, items of Indian culture and painting. Here are the first maps of the Hikakos peninsula, photocopies of primitive pictographs that were found in the caves of the area. In the museum, visitors can learn about the historical role of Varadero in the fight for Cuba's independence.
