Church of Saint Francis
Iglesia de San Francisco
Cuba, Havana
The church is located in St. Francis Square and is the highest in Havana. Its bell tower soared up to 42 meters and at one time was an excellent reference point for both merchant ships and pirates.
The monastery here ceased to operate in 1841 and was turned into a museum of ecclesiastical art, where you can learn more about the burial ceremonies that were common among the Cuban aristocracy of the XVIII century. And in the church itself today there is a concert hall with excellent acoustics for the performance of choral and chamber music.
