Yu Yuan Garden is located in the historical center of the city. It was created in the 16th century, destroyed during the opium wars of the 19th century and finally restored in 1956. The park combines masterpieces of nature (picturesque hills, clear ponds with goldfish, thickets of rare trees and flowers) and masterpieces of Chinese architecture (terraces, walking galleries, gazebos, bridges). Yu Yuan attracts increased attention of tourists at any time of the year.
