Yonghegong is one of the most beautiful Buddhist monasteries in China. In translation, it means a lamaist temple, and this is how it is according to the dogma. Historians are inclined to believe that the monastery was built in the 17th century.
During these past centuries, the buildings of Yonghegun have undergone several renovations. The monastery includes five temples, or rather, halls, the main of which is commonly called the hall of harmony and peace.
There are many statues in each of the halls of Yonghegun. The main one is a statue of Buddha made of sandalwood with a height of more than 25 meters. She decorates the hall called "Ten Thousand Lucks". Along with the temple visitors in Yonghegun, you can meet monks, but still quite rarely.
Yonghegun Monastery is open daily until 17:00. Entrance: 25 yuan.
