Badaling is the most visited by tourists section of the Great Wall of China, which lies 75 km northwest of Beijing and is connected to it by express bus, and after the Beijing Olympics, by express train. Built during the Ming Dynasty, carefully restored under Mao Zedong, and in 1957 the first section of the wall was opened for free visiting by everyone. Millions of tourists come here every year.
