World's End Park
Tianya Haijiao, Tianya Haijiao Park
China, Hainan
23 km from Sanya there is a sandy beach with huge (up to 10 meters high) stones of exotic shapes, magnificent sculptures and a beautiful landscape. This is Tianya Haijiao Park or World's End.
It is believed that the name of this place was given by Sun Wukong, the mythical king of the monkeys, who once visited here. And in confirmation of this, on two large rocks, inscriptions are carved in hieroglyphs: “the edge of the sky” and “the limit of the sea”. The image of these stones was placed on a denomination of 2 yuan. Another legend is connected with these rocks: these stones are a guy and a girl in love. They loved each other since childhood, but their parents, feuding, decided to find each of them another pair. The young man and the girl fled, but the servants pursued them. Having reached the seashore, the young people realized that separation was inevitable, and, not wanting to part, rushed into the waves. At this time, a thunderstorm began, and the lovers turned into two large stones near the shore, and the servants who tried to separate them into smaller ones.
Inside the park is the Crystal Museum, which exhibits 4 rare types of crystal: purple, yellow, green and red.
