Dazhou Island is a small island, about 2 km by 2 km, located 15 km east of Sanya. There are very beautiful landscapes, diverse flora and fauna. This is a unique piece of land, the only one in China where needle-tailed swifts (salangans) live, whose nests of a gelatinous substance are considered a great delicacy. The most famous local products are just these nests, better known as "swallow's nests".
