The Suzhou Museum is located in the heart of the city. It was founded in 1960 and has been in its new building since 2006. The museum presents expositions dedicated to Chinese applied arts. It has more than 15 thousand exhibits - paintings and calligraphy, items made of silk, jade and precious metals. Near the museum there is a cafe, a restaurant and a gift shop.
