The founding date of the Châ teau de Gruyè res is between 1270 and 1282. The last count of Gruyè res went bankrupt in the middle of the 16th century, his possessions were divided between the cities of Bern and Friborg. The castle was used for administrative purposes until the Ballan and Bovy families became its owners, who spent money on restoration. After that, the castle was purchased to organize a museum. The museum exhibits architecture, crafts, weapon painting and history. In the halls there is a spirit of the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Baroque.→
