Montebello Castle, the second in the Bellinzona fortification system, was built in the 13th century as the eastern outpost of Castelgrande. In the 15th century, the castle was significantly expanded and to this day it has come down almost unchanged. Considered one of the most beautiful castles in Switzerland. The entrance is free.
