The Royal Ontario Museum is Canada's largest cultural and natural history museum. The museum is famous for its dinosaur gallery, collections of art from the Middle East, Africa and East Asia, European and Canadian history. The Royal Museum was formally established on April 16, 1912, under the joint administration of the Government of Ontario and the University of Toronto. Since 1968 the museum has become an independent institution. In order to expand the exhibition space and give the museum a more modern look, in 2007 a new Li Chin Crystal building was added to the old building in honor of the philanthropist Michael Li-Chin, on whose donations it was created. The modern building, designed by architect Daniel Libeskind, really resembles crystals with its appearance. Through all 5 exhibition floors there passes the "Stairway of Miracles" in the form of a gallery, in the windows of which you can see about a thousand unique items from the museum's collections. On the top floor there is an observation deck with a restaurant.
