In 1990, the production of alcohol ceased, but the territory of the distillery began to serve as a film set for dozens of Canadian and Hollywood films. Since 2003, the area of the distillery received the status of a historical one, and the reconstruction of the buildings located here began. On an area of 52 thousand square meters. m there are up to 40 buildings of the Victorian era, which housed modern cafes, restaurants and shops. Gradually evolving into a center for arts, culture and leisure, the Distillery Historic District has become one of Toronto's top tourist attractions.
