Tsar-Liberator Street got its name because of the
monument to the Tsar-Liberator erected within its boundaries. This street is surrounded by houses built during the National Revival in the 18th and 19th centuries. In modern times, most of them have been converted into restaurants, exhibition halls and mezeas. Several parks (Kristal, St. Kliment Ohridsky, Tsarsky and Gorodskoy) and squares adjoin Tsar-Liberator Boulevard, as well as
Sofia University and the building of the National Assembly of Bulgaria .
