The City Garden is the oldest park in Sofia, founded in 1872. This small park is located in the historic center of the city, next to the
National Art Gallery and the
Theatre. Ivan Vazov. It changed its appearance several times, for some time it bore the name of Alexander II, and now the City Park is a favorite vacation spot for city residents. This is a green island where you can read, relax and eat. Very often you can see people playing chess here. In the middle of the garden, opposite the National Theater, there is a fountain with a figure of a dancing woman. There are also several cafes, a wooden playground and an old newsstand from the late 19th century.
