The main square of the city - the square of St. Bavo, was formed only in the 19th century. At the same time, the Royal Flemish Theater was built. On its facade there is a mosaic depicting Apollo and the Muses. The four sculptures symbolize the four Ghent theater associations whose members composed plays and poems in their native Flemish language. And high in the sky, above the portal of the building, the goddess of poetry and dance soars. Address: Sint-Baafsplein→
