The sculpture "Cat on a Bicycle" by contemporary artist Alain Sechas was installed in Brussels in 2005 by order of the city authorities and cost the city 100.000 euros. I would venture to suggest that in this way the authorities popularize an environmentally friendly mode of transport and encourage citizens to actively master bicycles.
