The Palace of Fine Arts, known as BOZAR, is a multidisciplinary cultural center dedicated to painting, music, theatre, dance, literature and cinema. The Art Deco building was built in 1928 by the architect Victor Horta. Due to building height restrictions, Horta built an 8-level building, mostly located underground. The BOZAR complex contains a large Le Boeuf concert hall (the Belgian National Orchestra gives concerts here), two chamber auditoriums, lecture halls and a large gallery for temporary exhibitions. The palace also houses a cinema, a thematic library, a restaurant and a BOZAR shop. A variety of events are held here: concerts; theatrical performances; meetings with artists and musicians; exhibitions dedicated to photography, architecture, painting of Belgium and other countries.
