The Church of Notre Dame du Sablon, a magnificent example of Brabant Gothic, was built in the 14th century. Initially, it was a small chapel, but after the miraculous statue of the Virgin brought from Antwerp was installed there, it was rebuilt and expanded to the size of a modern church. Nowadays, it appears as an elegant Gothic structure, decorated with many turrets, openwork balustrades and a rose window. Inside, the temple is interesting with colored stained-glass windows, sculptures, an old baroque pulpit of the 17th century. and a bas-relief about the history of delivering a statue of the Virgin Mary. Until the end of the XVIII century. the church also served as a tomb for respected aristocratic families - 19 representatives of the Thurn-i-Taxis family are buried here.
