Belgian Museum of Comics
Belgian Comic Strip Center, Center belge de la Bande dessinée, Belgian Comic Strip Center, Belgisch Centrum voor het Beeldverhaal
Belgium, Brussel
In 1989, the Museum of Belgian Comics was opened in Brussels - and this is not surprising, because this is the birthplace of comics, where the creators of Marsupilami, Lucky Luke, Tintin and other characters popular all over the world worked. The museum is housed in an Art Nouveau building designed by Victor Horta. It houses a collection of 25,000 comics and about 400 original drawings by Hergé. In this museum, you can learn about the history of the origin of comics in Belgium and trace its development to the present day. The museum also houses: a restaurant; a small exposition dedicated to the architect Victor Orta; comics shop; a library with a reading room and a learning center.
