Hyde Park
Hyde Park
Australia, Sydney
Hyde Park - a city park in Sydney - Australia's first park, was founded in 1810 by order of Governor Macquarie. Named after its London counterpart, Hyde Park, it has a rectangular shape with an area of 16 hectares. The decoration of the park is the Archibald Fountain, donated in 1932 by journalist Jules Archibald for Australia's services in the First World War. In the northern part of the park there is a Nagoya garden with huge chess pieces. In the southern part there is a memorial to the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. From the southeast side of the park, a monument is visible - a gun from the German cruiser Emden. There is a monument to Cook in the park, a riding path with night lighting, and a lake. A few years ago, a mirror labyrinth "Field" appeared here, consisting of 81 columns with mirrors on four sides.
