Melbourne Cricket Ground is a multi-purpose stadium in the Olympic Park of the capital of Victoria. Opened in 1854 as a cricket club site, it was later reconstructed for the 16th Summer Olympic Games in 1956. Currently, it is the largest stadium in Australia, capable of accommodating over 100,000 spectators. The stadium is the venue for matches of the Australian national cricket and football teams, the home ground of the cricket club and four Australian football teams. Recently, evening screenings of feature films have been held on the stadium field.
