Sculpture Soul of Ebro

El alma del Ebro
Austria, Salzburg
The Soul of the Ebro sculpture was created by the famous Spanish sculptor Jaume Plensa for an international exhibition in Zaragoza, with the theme "Water and sustainable development". The height of the sculpture is about 11 meters. The "Soul of Ebro" is a human figure made by connecting letters, which allows you to look inside a person, into his soul. The sculptural letters, in turn, symbolize the cells of the human body, which are more than 60% water. A similar sculpture, Singapore Soul, was installed in 2011 outside the Ocean Financial Centre, in Singapore.

Jaume Plensa's Soul of the Ebro was originally created for an exhibition in Zaragoza. The author believes that the human body is an architectural shell that protects his fragile soul. Therefore, the sculptor invites the viewer to think and look inside himself, through the shell. How to find? In the courtyard of Residenzplatz, 1.
