Johann Andreas von Liebenberg was mayor of Vienna during the second Turkish invasion in 1683. He headed the defense of the city, personally supervised the construction of fortifications and the creation of defenders' wives. In front of the monument lies a lion, his paw resting on a Turkish shield. In the medallion is a gilded waist-length portrait of the mayor, framed by a laurel wreath held by two angels. A gilded goddess of victory with a laurel wreath in her hand stands on top of a nine-meter obelisk.→
