The monument to the great Austrian composer Ludwig Beethoven, located on Beethovenplatz (Beethoven Square), is one of the most popular and bright in Vienna. The monument, one of the best works of sculptor Caspar von Zumbusch, was unveiled in 1880. The author of the monument portrayed the composer focused and even a little strict. On one side of Beethoven is Prometheus chained to a rock, on the other side - the ancient Greek goddess, symbolizing victory. Near the pedestal of the monument are graceful figures of angels, symbolizing the 9th Symphony - the most famous work of the genius composer.→
