The Vienna Museum of Natural History is one of the largest exhibitions in Austria. The museum has been operating since 1889, it houses a huge collection of exhibits, which for several centuries was collected by representatives of the Habsburg dynasty. Emperor Franz I Stephen made a significant contribution to its increase - he bought a huge collection of about 30.000 natural artifacts. Among them were rare minerals and precious stones, unique species of shells and snails, corals and more.

As the years went by, the collection grew, and it became crowded within the halls of the Habsburg Palace. It was decided to build a separate building for her. The new museum was designed by two famous architects - Gottfried Semper and Baron Karl von Hazenauer. This is the twin building of the Museum of Art History, located on the other side of Maria Theresa Square.
The facade of the Museum of Natural History in Vienna and its exhibition halls are decorated with numerous sculptures that tell us about the history of our world. And inside you can see more than 100 paintings dedicated to the most important scientific events and discoveries.
