The Leopold Museum of Art was opened in the
Museum Quarter relatively recently, in 2001. It is located in a modern building specially built for it in the form of a white cube. The museum was created on the basis of a private art collection collected by the Leopold spouses - there are many masterpieces of Art Nouveau and Expressionism (paintings, graphics, applied arts and original Art Nouveau furniture). The largest collection of paintings by Egon Schiele is collected here, there are paintings by Klimt and works by other artists of the 20th century. (Kokoschki, Koliga, Romako, Gerstl). In the Leopold Museum you can also see the unique art objects of the Vienna Art Workshop - works by Moser, Hofmann and other design masters. The museum has a souvenir shop and a café with a winter garden and a terrace.
