Museum House of the Sea
House of the Sea, Haus des Meeres
Austria, Vienna
The House of the Sea has been housed in a former World War II anti-aircraft defense tower since 1956, on the territory of the Esterhazy Park. About 10 thousand animals from different parts of the world live in a multi-storey building. Today, the House of the Sea houses aquariums, a Terrarium, a corner of the Rainforest with suspension bridges, orchids, grottoes and ponds; the exposition “Memories from within” dedicated to the history of the tower itself, and at the very top there is a cafe with a panoramic view of Vienna. This is a great place to stay with children. Here you can also watch the feeding of sharks, piranhas, snakes, reptiles and even dive into the pool with sharks.
