Palace Park Burggarten

Burggarten
Austria, Vienna
The small state park Burggarten is located along the Ringstrasse behind the semicircular building of the New Castle Hofburg. It was built at the request of Franz I at the beginning of the 19th century. in the English style and was available only to members of the imperial family. Only in 1919 did the Burggarten open to the public. On the territory of the park today you can see monuments to Mozart, Emperors Franz I and Franz Joseph, the Art Nouveau building "Palmenhaus" (now there is the "Butterfly House"), and in the center is a small pond with a fountain. The park is one of the favorite places for recreation and walks not only for citizens, but also for visiting guests of the Austrian capital.

The small park is adjacent to the Hofburg. It is called Burggarten, ie Palace Park. It used to be the personal park of the emperor, and now everyone can come to it. People in this park can relax both on benches, which are enough under the trees, and just on the lawns. In the park there are monuments to the emperors - the lead of France and Stephen - the first equestrian statue in Vienna and the bronze of Franz Joseph. But the most popular is the white marble monument to Mozart, about which there is a separate page on the site.
