If you're in St. Wolfgang, don't miss the Schafberg climb. A steam locomotive goes up the mountain on special gear rails. A steam locomotive in the literal sense of the word, runs on coal and water, rich black smoke included. The climb is quite steep. While climbing on the train, picturesque views of St. Wolfgang and the lake open up. There is an intermediate station where water is replenished. At the top there is a hotel and several cafe-restaurants. You can climb higher to the observation deck to the hotel.→
