The first mention of Riegersburg Castle is usually attributed to the 12th century. The castle has never been conquered by enemies in its history. In the 18th century, it passed into the possession of the ancient princely family of Liechtenstein, who own the castle to this day. You can go up to the fortress on foot or by elevator. In the courtyard of the fortress there is a well surrounded by an intricate wrought-iron fence with a horseshoe woven into the pattern. It is said that the one who manages to find it will be lucky in life.→
