Monument to Duke Bernhard von Spanheim, who, according to preserved written evidence, founded the first settlement of Klagenfurt on the site of the Old Square (12th century). An interesting detail is connected with the monument itself. The previous version of the bronze statue was dismantled during the Second World War, melted down and used to make weapons. After the war, the sculpture was restored in a marble version. Located on Alter Platz.→
