The island was designed by American architect Vito Acconci on the occasion of Graz's 2003 European Capital of Culture award. This is a floating platform, built in the form of a giant sea shell, while pedestrian bridges connect the "shell" with both banks of the Mur River. The object looks very impressive in the night illumination. And in the center of the platform there is a cafe with delicious desserts : )→
