The Cathedral is located on May Square. It was built in the neoclassical style in 1795 on the site of a destroyed temple. The facade of the building with a beautiful bas-relief is supported by 12 columns. The interior of the Cathedral is decorated with frescoes and paintings by Italian masters, and the floor is decorated with Venetian mosaics. It also houses the tomb of Argentina's national hero, General San Martin.
