Temple of St. Gayane (arm. Surb Gayanei Ekekhetsi) - a church of the 7th century, located in the city of Vagharshapat, next to the monastery of Etchmiadzin. Since 2000 it has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The church was built in 630 by order of the Catholicos Ezra, on the site of the martyrdom of Abbess Gayane. Here, at the beginning of the 4th century, the Armenian pagan king Trdat III ordered to torture and kill 40 Christian girls. Saint Hripsime was buried separately, 38 girls - a little more to the west.→
