The Mirahor Mosque is the first Muslim temple in Albania. It was erected in 1466 in the city of Korcha by order of the Albanian Janissary Ilyas Khoja "Mirahor". Ilyas Khoja received a sanjak from Sultan Mehmet II for services in the capture of Constantinople. He founded Korca as the center of his estate.
The Mirahor Mosque is a low building with a round dome and two minarets. The interior decoration of the mosque is admirable. The walls of the shrine are made in white and decorated with images of the holy cities for Muslims - Mecca and Medina.
The locals call this mosque the Albanian Taj Mahal.

Albanian Taj Mahal
An interesting mosque, rather chamber, ancient (15th century). The walls are decorated with engravings of Mecca and Medina. Very interesting images. I recommend visiting.→
