The traditional heritage village, an open-air museum, was opened in the metropolitan suburb of Madab in 1996. Here are models of traditional houses, tools, household utensils. The buildings are surrounded by a high wall with watchtowers. Museum visitors can see the al-ayyala folk dance and the traditional way of pumping water from a well with the help of a bull. The visit ends when guests are asked to taste traditional Arabic coffee, a symbol of traditional Arabic hospitality.
