Deira is the old part of the city, which consists of narrow streets filled with countless small shops. Unlike Bur Dubai, which is ultra-modern, with high-rise buildings and large shopping centers, the noisy and crowded Deira surprisingly mixes the old and the new. Be sure to visit this area with a local flavor that is so different from the rest of the city of metal and glass. There is also an old boat pier where dhow and abra boats moor, and noisy oriental bazaars (the most famous spice market (Spice Souk) and gold market (Gold Souk) and even modern skyscrapers, from which the business districts of the emirate begin.→
