Deira area

Deira
UAE, Dubai
Deira is one of the oldest districts, located in the eastern part of the city of Dubai. In the north, Deira is washed by the waters of the Persian Gulf, in the east it borders on the emirate of Sharjah. Here is the famous Gold Bazaar, a huge jewelry market, as well as a large number of trading establishments owned by immigrants from Pakistan and India. At the western border of Deira, the Dubai Creek canal passes, along which group tourist cruises are carried out.

Deira is the old part of the city, which consists of narrow streets filled with countless small shops. Unlike Bur Dubai, which is ultra-modern, with high-rise buildings and large shopping centers, the noisy and crowded Deira surprisingly mixes the old and the new. Be sure to visit this area with a local flavor that is so different from the rest of the city of metal and glass. There is also an old boat pier where dhow and abra boats moor, and noisy oriental bazaars (the most famous spice market (Spice Souk) and gold market (Gold Souk) and even modern skyscrapers, from which the business districts of the emirate begin.
