sheikh zayed mosque

Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Mosque
UAE, Abu Dhabi
The Sheikh Zayed Mosque is one of the six largest mosques in the world. Named after Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al-Nahyan, the founder and first president of the United Arab Emirates. He is buried nearby. The mosque was officially opened during the month of Ramadan in 2007.
This mosque, along with the Jumeirah Mosque in Dubai, has become an exception - everyone (not just Muslims) is allowed into it.
The mosque can simultaneously accommodate 40,000 believers. The main prayer hall is designed for 7 thousand worshipers. Two rooms next to the main prayer hall can accommodate 1,500 people each. One of these rooms is for women only.
At the four corners of the mosque are four minarets, which rise to about 115 meters. The outer row of the main building is covered with 57 domes. The domes are decorated with white marble, their interior decoration is also made of marble. The courtyard is lined with colored marble and has about seventeen thousand square meters.
The carpet of the mosque is the largest carpet in the world, it was made by the "Carpets of Iran" company according to the drawing of the Iranian artist Ali Khaliqi. The area of the “rug” is 5627 square meters, approximately 1200 weavers, 20 technical groups and 30 workers worked on it. The weight of this carpet is 47 tons - 35 tons of wool and 12 tons of cotton. There are 2,268,000 knots in the structure of the carpet.
The largest chandelier hangs in the mosque. Seven copper gilded chandeliers were imported from Germany. The largest chandelier is 10 meters in diameter and 15 meters high.

A unique religious building in Abu Dhabi, which cannot be ignored. Here is also the tomb of the sheikh-founder of the modern UAE, the 14th ruler of the ancient Al Nahyan family, where he was buried in 2004. During his presidency, the desert land of Bedouin nomads turned into a green paradise. He left a significant mark on the Earth. Huge funds from the sale of oil to them were invested in the educational system, agriculture, and construction. The sheikh was also engaged in charity work: the construction of numerous mosques, the opening of cultural, educational, medical institutions and other things.

There was a trip to Dubai. We have never been here before, so I really wanted to see everything, take cool photos and get positive emotions. Friends recommended the Dubai company Turistino, which organizes and plans holidays, so they contacted its representatives in advance to visit the Sheikh Zayed Mosque - after all, this attraction is the symbol of Dubai. The whole trip was comfortable, pick up from the hotel. When they got inside, they could not believe their eyes. This is a vivid example of wealth and luxury, as much goosebumps went through the body.

We travel a lot to different countries, we came to the Emirates for the first time. We stopped at the hotel, and of course began to choose excursions, entertainment. Let's go to the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, huge, luxurious. Everything we saw is beyond words. Women are also allowed inside, of course, clothes are loose, not tight-fitting, closed to the maximum. If you do not have a scarf with you, you can take it at the entrance. The inside is even more beautiful than the outside. Golden mosaic, crystals, stones, dazzle the eye with luxury.

We rested at the Sharjah SummerLand hotel and on the 1st floor we bought an excursion to Abu Dhabi from Shan Tours. The tour lasts 13 hours, from 9 am to 8 pm. We were picked up directly from the hotel. I liked everything very much, I advise. Abu Dhabi is the capital of the UAE, so this city is the most luxurious of all. I can’t even believe that 40 years ago, there was a bare desert here. Very beautiful city, very clean and green. First we visited the Heritage Village, here you can see how the Bedouins used to live, their housing and way of life.

Rested with a friend this year in Sharjah. Naturally, what kind of vacation without excursions. Our tour operator Pegas Touristik offered us excursions at high prices, but we, on the advice of friends, bought an excursion from Shan Tours . . Their sales point is located at the Summer Land Hotel on the 1st floor, opposite the reception. The prices here are 40% cheaper and there are all the necessary licenses. Our first trip was to Abu Dhabi. Be sure to visit her! We saw: Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Heritage Village with museums and lunch, Ferrari Park, Leaning Tower, the most luxurious hotel in the UAE, etc.

The Sheikh Zayed White Mosque in Abu Dhabi is the largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates. This is the main showcase of the untold riches of the emirate of Abu Dhabi in the eyes of tourists. The mosque bears the name of the beloved sheikh, who came up with the idea to unite all the Bedouins into one country. Sheikh is really loved, honored and respected here. This is evidenced by numerous posters with his image, evenly distributed throughout the emirates. Well, the luxury of the mosque speaks of the amount of wealth that fell to the lot of this once poor, illiterate nomadic people.
